Ontario Commercial Litigation Counsel Needed

Job ID: 39847470

Budget: $100,000 – $0 CAD

I run a Toronto-based family office that manages a portfolio of active commercial ventures and, inevitably, the disputes that arise from them. To keep our files moving efficiently I now need an in-house litigation counsel who is already registered with the Law Society of Ontario and brings at least five solid years of courtroom experience to the table.

Your day-to-day focus will be commercial disputes—breach of contract, shareholder fights, injunctions, debt recovery, the usual mix. I litigate, not just posture, so I need someone comfortable taking matters all the way to trial on a regular basis. Trial preparation and execution—drafting pleadings, discoveries, expert management, voir dire work, and, ultimately, standing up in front of a judge—must already be part of your skill set.

The structure is flexible: full-time employment in the $150 k–$300 k range plus performance bonus, or a fixed-fee, case-by-case arrangement if you prefer to keep a small roster of outside clients. Either way, you’ll have autonomy over file strategy while working closely with me on risk-based decision making and settlement thresholds.

If you meet the licensing requirement, thrive under courtroom pressure, and want a steady pipeline of interesting commercial work, let’s talk.
