Ongoing Legal Research and Writing Projects - Canada
Budget: $25 – $50 CAD
We are a legal research and writing company serving the Canadian market since 2011. We solely serve Canadian law firms (as an outsourced legal support provider).
We are looking to ramp up our operations by hiring skilled legal researchers and writers to work for us on an as needed basis. We are not confining our search to Canadian candidates. Thus, English speaking candidates in other common law jurisdictions are welcome to apply.
There are four areas of work where we are looking for assistance. The first is creating factual summaries (with referencing) from documents (such as medical files, expert reports, affidavits and pleadings). The second is compiling factual and legal information into custom documents (such as incorporating them into precedent pleadings, briefs and contracts). The third is preparing written agreements and contracts (including preparing summaries reviewing potential issues and areas for improvement on existing drafts). The fourth is to conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda with legal analysis on specific legal issues. The last category of work will likely be confined to Canadian law graduates (albeit we will consider candidates from other jurisdictions with similar capabilities).
Ideally, we are looking for candidates who can offer short turnaround times. We also would prefer to work out fixed fees per matter or at least a set budget per matter.
In the event that our initial working relationship proves mutually beneficial, you can expect to receive a constant stream of work.
Lawyers and paralegals (and anyone with other equivalent legal experience) may submit a proposal for an initial trial project (and for ongoing work).
We will attempt to provide precedents where possible for you to work with.
