UK Music Publishing Setup ltd & Funding

Job ID: 40473377

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m ready to launch an independent music-publishing company in the UK and need a solicitor who can guide me from day one through to first royalty cheques. I have some industry experience, but this is the first time I’m formalising the business side, so clarity and completeness are essential.

The job covers three main areas:
• Registering the company and obtaining all relevant industry memberships (Companies House, PRS, MCPS, PPL, ICO where needed).
• Drafting the core legal documents—writer agreements, admin contracts, sub-publishing templates, split sheets, NDAs and an investor agreement—so everything is watertight before I start signing talent.
• Mapping and pursuing realistic funding options, from music-sector grants and Arts Council programmes to private investors and seed-enterprise schemes, with your support on applications and any compliance wording.

I’d like straightforward explanations of each step, a clear timeline, and documents I can reuse as the catalogue grows. Please outline how you would tackle these three pillars, any similar projects you’ve completed, and the typical turnaround you can commit to once engaged.
