Hello, I am looking for help with an employment issue in Maryland (near Baltimore). I left a company due to severe pay decreases (COVID), and job duties being more tripled. I took on very specific new roles including overseeing entire departments. After COIVD pay decreases for over a year I was given marginal pay raises which were rescinded after three months for little to no reason. My reason for leaving was the pay issues, not being compensated for promised commissions, increased work load outside of original contract, hostile work environment (documented), as well as being tasked to perform unethical duties including theft of digital assets from vendors (stealing email and customer data to use and market to for our own benefit as well as building eCommerce sites against NY State Law, and using my own freelance account to build terms and conditions....plus more). I left the company on my own and had no plans for legal from my end, but now they are holding me hostage on a non-compete and forced me to leave a current role leaving me unemployed with no options. I need to discuss short-term planning and potential long-term lawsuit but because of the COVID pay issues I would be interested in a hybrid retainer / fee collected commission model. They refused to provide a copy of my employment agreement after I left claiming it was stuck in a broken cabinet. They only provided it to me until 6 weeks after I started a new role. It was never in my employee portal while employed and I have emails documenting this. I have a deeper dive document. To be clear I am aware of many laws surrounding my non-compete as well as a right to work state. However, I would like someone with an understanding of non-competes, especially surrounding sever pay decreases and taking on new duties (I took on an additional 3 o 4 full time roles which can be proved as they have replaced me with 4 people so far and possibly a 5th soon). Thank you
