Legal Consultant for FMCG FSSAI Compliance

We are seeking a skilled legal consultant to assist our FMCG company in ensuring compliance with FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) regulations. The consultant will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s operations and products, ensuring adherence to all food safety laws, and mitigating legal risks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on FSSAI standards and ensure all products comply with food safety regulations.
- Review, draft, and manage contracts, agreements, and legal documentation related to FMCG operations.
- Assist in obtaining and renewing FSSAI licenses and certifications.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety laws and standards.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage interactions with regulatory bodies.
- Offer guidance on labeling, packaging, and advertising to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and handle any legal disputes effectively.
- Provide regular updates on changes to food safety laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in FMCG legal compliance, specifically in FSSAI-related matters.
- Knowledge of food safety laws, packaging regulations, and consumer protection laws.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle regulatory interactions and legal proceedings confidently.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with food safety certification processes.
- Knowledge of allied laws affecting the FMCG sector.
- Proficiency in legal research and risk assessment.
