Fathers Estate

Needing a lawyer to review my Father's Probate case. My stepmother passed away Oct 2021 and Father passed away Jan 2022. My Father's stepdaughter is the executrix of his estate and stepson in law is the executor of my stepmother's estate (executor and executrix are married). My stepmother left most of her assets to my father however it was never transferred to him or his estate. I was sent a release to only receive what was in my father's Will that was executed years ago. Where is the assets of my stepmother? I am being told it does not transfer to my father since he passed away before my stepmother's estate was settled. That cannot be true and the lawyer handling it is good friends with the executor and basically only gave me an answer "it is complicated." I am needing a lawyer to look into this.
