Defense Representation for Alberta Product Liability

Job ID: 40280084

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

I operate an Amazon.ca storefront that sells battery-powered heated socks. A customer has filed suit in Alberta, alleging the socks started a fire that caused significant property damage. I must file a responsive claim and mount a defence within the next two months.

I am looking for full legal representation in Alberta to defend against this allegation. At this stage I have no conclusive evidence showing the socks were not the source of the fire, so I will need your guidance on locating and preserving expert testimony, engineering reports, or any other material that can strengthen our position.

Key expectations
• Draft and file all required pleadings before the limitation period expires.
• Advise on and execute a strategy for gathering technical evidence (e.g., product-safety analysis, fire-cause investigation, expert affidavits).
• Represent the company in all negotiations, examinations, and, if necessary, court appearances in Alberta.
• Keep me informed of deadlines, procedural requirements, and settlement options along the way.

If you are licensed to practise in Alberta, have experience with product-liability defence, and can begin immediately, please outline your approach and any similar cases you have handled.
