PhD Law Interview Data Collection
Budget: ₹600 – ₹5,000 INR
I am in the data-gathering stage of my PhD in Law and require hands-on support with structured interviews, which are my primary mode of data collection. My doctoral research examines the fairness and adequacy of passenger compensation within Indian Civil Aviation Law, and I have already prepared a detailed questionnaire tailored for different expert categories. The structured interview schedule comprises 25 questions for Judicial Officers and Judges, 31 questions for Industry Practitioners such as Legal Heads of Airlines (Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Vistara, etc.), 15 questions for Customer Service and Claims Managers dealing with passenger disputes, 15 questions for Representatives from the Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), 9 questions for DGCA Officials (regulatory perspective), 15 questions for MoCA Officials (policy and legislative perspective), and 8 questions for Legal Experts specialising in compensation law. A minimum of 20 experts, distributed across these categories, must be interviewed.
The scope of work includes identifying and recruiting suitable experts from the above categories, scheduling the interviews, preparing participant-facing documents such as consent forms, information sheets, and confidentiality notes in line with university ethics protocols, and assisting in conducting the interviews via Zoom, Teams, or face-to-face, ensuring that all responses are recorded verbatim. The transcripts must be accurate to at least 95%, spot-checked against the recordings, and delivered in Word or Excel format, tagged with metadata (participant code, category, date, duration), together with a master file containing all raw responses.
Acceptance criteria include supervisor approval of the interview schedule, completion of at least 20 structured interviews of no less than 30 minutes each, transcript accuracy of 95% or higher, and delivery of all material in a clearly organised folder structure. Familiarity with qualitative research software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, or MAXQDA and knowledge of legal research methodologies will be considered an advantage, though my immediate requirement is for rigorous, reproducible, and academically credible data collection.
