Litigation assistant or federal civil‑rights paralegal (e.g. § 1983, police misconduct)

Job ID: 39618291

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m looking for a skilled paralegal or legal assistant experienced in Illinois court procedure and civil rights matters to assist with preparing legal documents.

The situation involves:
• A 2003 conviction where no court order was entered regarding a post-sentencing requirement
• Government agents later made unauthorized changes to my classification and duration on official records
• No judicial findings were ever issued to support those changes

This raises serious due process and separation of powers issues. I’ve already gathered supporting legal precedent, including rulings from the Illinois Supreme Court and Appellate Court.

Tasks include:
• Drafting a formal correction notice to the appropriate county agency
• Preparing a motion or court filing to restore the original records
• Formatting and organizing exhibits

I am representing myself and need professional-grade help to make sure the filings are court-ready. A background in Illinois criminal law, registry statutes, or civil rights litigation is ideal.

Skills Needed:
• Legal writing (Illinois-based preferred)
• Experience with pro se court filings
• Understanding of civil procedure and official records correction
