S Moore Law is a law firm with a new approach and we are currently seeking paralegal(s) with at least 10 years’ experience in Family Law to assist with our caseload in a 100% remote capacity.

How is our approach different?

You set the max number of hours per week that you can devote to the firm;
You will not be prohibited from other employment so long as no conflict or solicitation exists;
You will work on your own time schedule, using your own computers and equipment; and
You can work 100% from the comfort of your own home.
Duties will include:

Conduct thorough document review and prepare legal documents related to family law cases, including petitions, motions, and discovery requests.
Work independently with clients and opposing counsel to obtain and produce mandatory disclosures, prepare financial affidavits, child support guidelines, and the like.
Prepare and file discovery requests.
Work independently with clients in preparing discovery responses.
Assembling and organizing document productions.
Organizing the tracking discovery responses and document production.
Prepare child support guidelines, equitable distribution worksheets, etc.
Utilize Lexis Ai for legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
Maintain organized case files and ensure all documents are accurately filed in document management systems.
Assist attorneys with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings with clients and other parties involved in cases.
Proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance with court requirements.
Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely submission of filings.
Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and address inquiries as needed.
Assist in trial preparation, including identifying, tagging, and organizing exhibits, preparing witness and exhibit lists, coordinating/subpoenaing witnesses, etc.
Using Clio to support project management efforts by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely submission of filings.
Requirements:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in Florida Family Law;
Clean disciplinary record;
Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and with others;
Excellent written communication skills, using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling;
Reasonable availability during normal business hours (M-F 9-5) for virtual client meetings;
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Teams;
Experience with Clio;
Solid knowledge of Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure.
Pay:

Pay is per diem and will be dependent upon experience, credentials, and hours per week/month available;
Potential for rate increases or productivity-based bonuses.

Who Is This Job Best Suited For?

A retired or semi-retired paralegal, stay at home mom/dad, or someone that is employed on a part time basis;
An individual that is interested in truly part time and controllable workflow;
An individual that will not have to immediately rely on income generated from this job, as this model is a bit new to us and we will be working on the flow and increasing our marketing for the first 36 months.
An individual with the ability to communicate with clients during normal business hours;
A fun person who loves to collaborate, socialize, and interact with clients;
A paralegal who has called Family Law their primary practice area for at least 10 years.
Who is Not Suited For This Job?

Any paralegal with a super heavy caseload or other large commitment that already takes the majority of their time;
Any paralegal that absolutely needs full-time work immediately, as it will take some time to work out the kinks and install our new marketing plan;
Any paralegal that has zero or highly limited availability during regular business hours, as clients will need communication during these times;
Any individual that has only dabbled in Family Law – we need a true expert as you will be working alone, remotely, and in a self-sufficient manner.
Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
