Commercial Preconstruction Agreement Drafting
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a concise, legally enforceable pre-construction agreement for a commercial build. The contract will be signed by me as the client and by the selected general contractor, so every clause has to balance owner protections with realistic contractor obligations while remaining compliant with the construction law requirements in our jurisdiction.
The document must clearly set out the parties’ responsibilities before breaking ground—think preliminary design coordination, cost estimating procedures, value-engineering discussions, insurance and bonding prerequisites, and a straightforward path for resolving disputes long before they slow the actual construction phase. Please keep the language practical, avoid unnecessary “legalese,” and format it so both parties can easily review and sign.
Deliverables:
• Editable Word version of the full agreement, ready for signature
• A brief cover memo explaining each major clause and where I should add project-specific figures or dates
• One round of revisions after my initial review
