Legal Document Review
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
Legal Review — Project Brief
About the business
Asher Property Clearance & Estate Transition is a small Queensland-based business providing estate property clearance, transition coordination, and related services. The business is run by a sole operator on the Gold Coast and works across South-East Queensland and beyond as engagements require.
What we need
A legal review of a set of four documents that govern how Asher engages with clients:
Engagement Terms — the contractual terms applying to every engagement (internal, signed by client at engagement start)
Contents Handover form — a form recording what items the family retains and confirming the transfer of remaining contents to Asher's care and authority (internal, signed at the start of clearance work)
Website Terms of Use — the terms applying to visitors of theasherco.com (public-facing, currently live)
Privacy Policy — the privacy policy applying to client and visitor information (public-facing, currently live)
The two internal documents have not been seen by a lawyer before and represent the primary review burden. The two public-facing documents are already in use but warrant a sense-check.
Required qualifications
asher-engagement-terms 223 lines 2,527 words, asher-contents-handover 115 lines 747 words, asher-website-terms 65 lines 610 words, asher-privacy-policy 96 lines 743 words
Admitted to practise as a solicitor in Australia
Current practising certificate
Preferably Queensland-admitted, given the governing-law clause in the engagement terms
Experience with small-business commercial contracts and consumer-facing terms preferred
Familiarity with estate-related, property, or service-industry contracts a bonus but not essential
Please confirm your admission status and jurisdiction
Deliverable
Revised versions of the four documents with proposed changes shown in tracked changes (Microsoft Word or equivalent). Where a proposed change reflects a substantive legal point rather than a wording preference, a brief explanation in a comment or covering note is welcomed.
If you would propose a different deliverable shape that you believe would serve the review better, please describe it in your bid.
Pricing and turnaround
Please propose your fee and turnaround as part of your bid. Both fixed-fee and hourly arrangements will be considered.
Format of source documents
The four documents will be supplied in Word (.docx) format. Markdown source is also available on request.
Please include:
Confirmation of your admission status and jurisdiction
A short description of relevant experience
Your proposed fee and turnaround
Any clarifying questions about the scope
A detailed scope document with the specific points we would like reviewed will be provided on engagement.
