Australian Lawyer for Freelancer.com Debt Case
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am seeking a qualified lawyer or legal professional based in Australia (preferably New South Wales) to assist in recovering an unpaid debt of around $1,000 USD.
Background:
In mid-2022, I completed a project for a client via Freelancer.com. Following the completion of the work, the client blocked me to avoid payment and has since remained unresponsive. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this through Freelancer.com’s internal support and dispute systems, the funds remain unpaid.
As Freelancer.com is an Australian-based entity, I require local legal expertise to escalate this matter.
Scope of Work:
1. Case Review: Analyse provided communication logs, project milestones, and contract details to determine the best legal path.
2. Terms of Service Analysis: Review Freelancer.com’s Terms of Service regarding Milestone Payments and platform liability in the event of client fraud/blocking.
3. Letter of Demand: Draft and serve a formal Letter of Demand to Freelancer Technology Pty Limited and/or the client (if local).
4. Legal Advice: Advise on the feasibility of a small claims filing via the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) if a settlement is not reached.
5. Legal Actions: File a lawsuit to claim the funds and interests from relevant parties, such as Freelancer.com.
Requirements:
Must be a qualified legal practitioner in Australia (NSW jurisdiction preferred).
Experience in contract law, digital platform disputes, or debt recovery.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with international clients.
Available Documentation:
I have maintained a complete archive of:
The original project agreement and technical specifications.
All communication logs between the client and me.
All correspondence with Freelancer.com support and their dispute team.
Proof of work submitted.
Budget:
Please provide your fixed fee for the initial review and Letter of Demand.
Thank you
