UK citizen becoming a director of Sri Lankan company

As a UK resident living in the uk, i need to set-up a business in Sri Lanka and become a major shareholder director.
My question is whether I should make the Sri Lankan based company a subsidiary of an existing UK based company or set up a separate Private Limited company in Sri Lanka?
