Market Research & Sales Development Representative (South Africa - Apparel Industry)
Budget: $75 – $100 USD
1. Comprehensive Market Research & Trend Analysis
Your first task is to provide a deep dive into the Nigerian T-shirt market for both men and women (adults). I need to understand what will sell before we start production.
• Fabric & Quality: Identify the preferred GSM (weight) and fabric blends (e.g., 100% Cotton, Poly-cotton, or Spandex mix) suitable for the Nigerian climate.
• Design & Aesthetics: Report on trending colors (vibrant vs. neutral), fit styles (Oversized, Slim fit, or Regular), and neck styles (Crew neck, V-neck, or Polo).
• Graphics & Patterns: Analyze if the market prefers minimalist branding, bold graphic prints, or traditional/cultural patterns.
• Pricing Architecture: Provide a price map—what is the landing cost, the wholesale price in major markets (like Lagos/Kano), and the final retail price for consumers.
2. Strategic Buyer Identification & Lead Generation
Once we have the product specifications, you will act as our feet-on-the-ground to find high-volume buyers.
• Importer Mapping: Identify major wholesalers and large-scale importers who currently source apparel from overseas.
• Retail Chains & Boutiques: List organized retail outlets or large e-commerce vendors looking for reliable manufacturing partners in India.
• Database Creation: Create a verified list including company names, decision-maker contact details, and their current monthly/annual import volumes.
3. Negotiation, Sampling, and Sales Conversion
You will be the bridge between our production unit in Tirupur and the buyer in Nigeria.
• Product Presentation: Effectively communicate our manufacturing capabilities, emphasizing our ability to customize designs based on their specific needs.
• Sample Management: Handle the delivery of physical samples to potential buyers and gather their technical feedback for our design team.
• Closing the Deal: Use your local communication skills to negotiate pricing, MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities), and payment terms to convert leads into confirmed purchase orders.
4. Buyer Vetting & Due Diligence
To ensure safe and sustainable business, you must verify the credibility of every potential partner.
