Virtual Assistant for US Tech Job Applications

Job ID: 40387872

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

About This Role I'm looking for a detail-oriented VA to manage a high-volume job search — applying to roles, doing targeted outreach to hiring managers, and helping prep for interviews. Milestone-based with real performance bonuses. I need someone organized, technically capable, and familiar with the US tech job market.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Company Research (Most Important) Before applying anywhere, verify the company is a good fit using public databases and research tools. I'll provide specific criteria in the onboarding doc. Only skip a role if the company clearly doesn't meet the criteria I outline.

2. Finding Roles Search across: LinkedIn (NO Easy Apply — always go to company career page), Indeed, Wellfound/YC Work at a Startup, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, HiringCafe, and company career pages directly.

Target titles — be broad, if it sits at the intersection of tech, product, and process, apply:

Product Manager / Associate PM / APM
Product Operations Manager / Product Analyst
Business Analyst (product or tech-facing)
Strategy & Operations
Product Coordinator / Product Specialist
Project Manager / Program Manager / Technical Program Manager
Scrum Master / Delivery Manager (at tech companies)

3. Resume Tailoring + ATS Optimization (Required) Every submission needs a tailored resume — not optional.

Identify the top 8-10 keywords from the job description and mirror them in the resume where truthfully applicable
Reorder and use the STAR bullet points method to front-load the most relevant experience for that role
Run through an ATS checker (Jobscan.co or similar) — aim for 80%+ match before submitting
Never change dates, companies, degrees, or factual content — only wording and ordering
No tables, columns, text boxes, or graphics — clean ATS-friendly formatting only
Submit as .PDF unless the application explicitly requires .DOCX

4. LaTeX Resume Editing (Required) My resume is in LaTeX. You must be comfortable:

Opening and editing a provided .tex file
Making keyword and phrasing edits to bullet points without breaking formatting
Compiling to PDF using Overleaf
Naming each version clearly (e.g. Resume_PM_Stripe_2026.tex)
You don't need to be a LaTeX expert — but you must have used it before and know how to edit a .tex file and compile it. If you've never opened a .tex file, this role isn't for you.

5. Applying to Roles

Always apply on the company's career page — never LinkedIn Easy Apply
Log every application in the shared Google Sheet before moving to the next.
6. Hiring Manager Outreach After applying, find the HM or recruiter's name, LinkedIn URL, and work email (Hunter.io, Apollo.io, or RocketReach). Draft a personalized outreach email using my template. Log everything in the tracker and flag as "Ready to Send." Do not send — I send myself.

7. Interview Prep (Bonus) When I get an interview I'll request a research package: recent company news, Glassdoor questions for that role, HM background, main products, and a tailored Q&A prep sheet.
