Converting an old textbook figure into LaTeX/TiKZ/PgfPlot

I am looking for experienced professionals to assist me with a project which involves converting an old textbook 3D figure into LaTeX/TiKZ/PgfPlot (and improving it a bit with colors...). The figure needs to be produced using LaTeX, TiKZ and/or PgfPlot code. No other software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or Word Processing Software must be used. Furthermore, I do not need the 3D figure to be interactive. I would like the end result to look as close to the original as possible. As this is a complex task, I am looking for individuals that have experience in this field. I am excited to see what someone with the right skills can come up with.
