Malware Analysis Assignments – Complete Execution and Reporting

This project involves completing five full malware analysis assignments, including lab execution, investigation, and documentation. All required materials—assignment descriptions, videos, and the virtual machine setup guide—are available here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15e2oCqpY46EEes_G-zsy1vaq2VNyuyaH?usp=sharing

Each assignment must be fully executed inside the provided Windows XP Lab VM, covering:
1. Web Exploit Analysis using Malzilla to decode and analyze obfuscated web attacks.
2. DLL Side-Loading Malware investigation, identifying dropped files, payload behavior, and obfuscation.
3. Advanced PE Unpacking (UPX, AsPack, FSG, WinUpack) with PEiD, IDA, and IAT reconstruction.
4. Morphine-Protected Executable Unpacking, locating the Original Entry Point and removing protections.
5. Android Ransomware Analysis using AVD/SDK tools to trace installation, encryption, and recovery.

For the given SSN 20040112-T173, the last digit (3) is odd; use notepad.exe and Morphine folder 03.
Every assignment must be performed step-by-step with screenshots and clear explanations of each stage (tool usage, unpacking, decoding, or behavioral findings).

Download all seven parts of the XP VM, extract using 7-Zip, and run it through VirtualBox. The VM is pre-infected—do not extract samples outside as they are malicious but safe within the VM.

The deliverables are LaTeX-formatted reports for all five assignments showing practical completion evidence, observations, and analysis results. Deadline: 28 October. Early submissions are encouraged for feedback. All materials and VM contents are strictly confidential and must not be reused or shared outside this project.
