Website Performance Optimization for KuwaitLocal.com
Budget: ₹37,500 – ₹75,000 INR
KuwaitLocal.com is experiencing a significant drop in organic traffic, primarily due to performance issues. The website is built using Laravel 8. We require a skilled freelancer to optimize the website’s performance by addressing server response times, reducing page weight, optimizing code, managing third-party assets, and implementing effective performance monitoring. Note that we use Google Auto Ads, the site is protected by Sucuri Firewall (which functions as a CDN), and it is hosted on DigitalOcean through Cloudways in Frankfurt.
Scope of Work:
Server Optimization:
Evaluate Hosting Setup: Review the current hosting setup on DigitalOcean through Cloudways and suggest any necessary improvements to enhance performance.
Optimize Sucuri Firewall and CDN: Ensure that the Sucuri Firewall is optimally configured to act as a CDN, reducing latency and improving load times.
Page Weight Reduction:
Image Optimization: Compress and optimize all images using tools like TinyPNG or JPEGmini. Implement lazy loading for images to ensure they only load when visible in the viewport.
Minify Resources: Minimize the size of CSS, JavaScript, and HTML files using tools like Minify. Remove any unused code.
Enable GZIP Compression: Compress files on the server before sending them to the client.
Code Efficiency:
Optimize JavaScript and CSS Loading: Ensure that non-critical JavaScript and CSS are loaded asynchronously or deferred. Avoid placing JavaScript in the head of HTML files.
Reduce HTTP Requests: Combine CSS and JavaScript files where possible. Implement browser caching for static resources to reduce load times on repeat visits.
Third-Party Asset Management:
Review Third-Party Scripts: Minimize the use of third-party scripts and ensure they are loaded asynchronously. Remove any non-essential third-party scripts.
Optimize Google Auto Ads: Ensure that Google Auto Ads are implemented in a way that minimizes their impact on page load times. Consider lazy loading for ads.
Performance Monitoring:
Setup and Use Performance Tools:
Google PageSpeed Insights: Regularly use this tool to monitor performance and identify bottlenecks.
GTmetrix: Use for in-depth analysis of page speed, total page size, and the number of requests.
WebPageTest: Test performance from different locations and browsers. Check metrics like Time to First Byte (TTFB) and Fully Loaded Time.
Core Web Vitals: Focus on improving metrics such as Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) as highlighted in Google Search Console.
Required Skills:
Expertise in Laravel 8
Strong knowledge of web performance optimization techniques
Experience with server management, CDNs, and security tools like Sucuri
Proficiency in using performance monitoring tools
Deliverables:
Detailed Report: Provide a report outlining the current performance issues and the proposed solutions.
Implementation: Execute the agreed optimization strategies.
Post-Optimization Report: Provide a detailed report showing the improvements in key performance metrics.
Functional Testing: Ensure the website functions correctly after optimization.
Ongoing Monitoring Setup: Set up performance monitoring to ensure continued optimal performance.
Performance Metrics and Goals:
Time to First Byte (TTFB): Target under 200 ms.
First Contentful Paint (FCP): Target under 1.8 seconds.
Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): Target under 2.5 seconds.
First Input Delay (FID): Target under 100 ms.
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS): Target under 0.1.
Time to Interactive (TTI): Target under 3.8 seconds.
Fully Loaded Time: Target under 2.5 seconds for both mobile and desktop.
Performance Tools:
Google PageSpeed Insights:
Requirement: Post-optimization score should be 90 or above on both mobile and desktop.
Google PageSpeed Insights
GTmetrix:
Requirement: Performance and Structure scores should be 90 or above.
GTmetrix
WebPageTest:
Requirement: Grade A for Performance and Start Render Time under 1 second.
WebPageTest
Google Search Console:
Requirement: All Core Web Vitals metrics should be in the green zone.

Additional Considerations:
Google Auto Ads: Optimize ad loading to minimize impact on performance. Implement lazy loading for ads.
Sucuri Firewall: Ensure Sucuri Firewall is configured correctly to maximize its CDN capabilities.
Regular Testing: Perform continuous performance testing and provide periodic reports to ensure optimizations are maintained.
