Position Overview - 2-Week Platform Stabilization Project

Project Overview
ProviderNow is preparing to launch a consumer-focused virtual healthcare platform built on a Laravel backend, Next.js frontend, and Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

We are seeking a senior engineer to perform a short-term stabilization project focused on improving CI/CD reliability, deployment consistency, and infrastructure readiness ahead of launch.
This engagement is designed to resolve key technical blockers and establish a reliable deployment process for the platform.

Project Objectives
The goal of this engagement is to:
• Stabilize CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure consistent deployments across environments
• Align staging and production deployment strategies
• Reduce deployment risk ahead of platform launch
• Document the deployment process for ongoing use

Key Responsibilities
1. CI/CD Pipeline Review
Review the existing deployment pipelines and identify issues impacting deployment reliability.
Areas of focus include:
Build pipeline structure
Artifact creation and storage
Deployment triggers
Pipeline error handling
Version traceability

2. Deployment Standardization
Implement a build once, deploy many workflow.
Expected outcome:
CI builds a versioned artifact (e.g., api.zip)
Staging automatically deploys the artifact
Production promotes the same artifact after validation
No server-side git pull deployments

3. Environment Alignment
Ensure staging and production environments are consistent and predictable.
This may include:
Environment configuration review
Secret and configuration management
Environment variable standardization
Infrastructure consistency checks

4. Azure Infrastructure Review
Review the current Azure infrastructure to ensure it supports stable deployments and appropriate security practices.
Areas may include:
VM Scale Sets
networking configuration
access controls
logging and monitoring
environment separation

5. Deployment Documentation
Create a concise deployment guide that includes:
deployment process
rollback procedure
pipeline structure
environment configuration overview
This documentation will allow the internal team to maintain the system post-engagement.
Deliverables
At the end of the engagement, ProviderNow expects:
Stabilized CI/CD pipelines
Artifact-based deployment workflow implemented
Consistent staging and production deployments
Documented deployment and rollback process

Engagement Structure
Estimated duration: 1–2 weeks
Time commitment: Part-time
Compensation: Hourly or project-based (to be mutually agreed)
