We’re seeking a skilled Flutter developer with PHP/Laravel expertise to lead the development of core modules for NeoFarmers, an agricultural mobile app designed for rural farming communities in Panama. This role focuses on building the Finca Actual, Finca Ideal, and Geo-tracking (Wikiloc-like) modules, which are critical for farm mapping, planning, and real-time tracking. You’ll work on an existing Flutter app connected to a Laravel backend, ensuring seamless integration and offline functionality.

Enhance NeoFarmers, a mobile app supporting participatory agricultural planning and monitoring
-Actual Farm Module: Develop a farm mapping tool to:
Delimit farm boundaries using GPS on an interactive map (Mapbox/ESRI integration).
Position infrastructure, crops, and animals using drag-and-drop functionality.
Support offline data capture with synchronization when connectivity is restored.
-Ideal Farm Module: Build a planning tool to:
Design future farm layouts based on Finca Actual data.
Enable selection of agroecological practices from a catalog.
Generate plans with activities, timelines, and digital signatures for approval.
Link to farm plans and provide a digital catalog of inputs/equipment that can be acquired through coupon redemption,
Track coupon redemption, verify receipt, and evaluate impact.
- Geo-tracking Module: Implement a Wikiloc-like tracking system to:
Record promotores rurales’ routes between and within farms in real-time using GPS.
Support offline map visualization and route storage with automatic synchronization.
Provide alerts for farm entry/exit and deviations in travel time/distance.
Collaborate with our existing codebase (Flutter frontend, Laravel backend, PostgreSQL database, OAuth2 authentication).
Ensure the app is optimized for low-bandwidth rural environments and mid-to-low-end devices.
- Calendario Agroclimático Module: Build a personalized calendar system to:
Visualize crop and livestock cycles by geographic zone.
Display phenological stages and critical activity alerts.
Integrate local weather forecasts via APIs.
- Monitoring and Data Visualization Module: Create a monitoring system to:
Track farm plan implementation and adoption of agroecological practices.
Generate dashboards and reports with early warning alerts.
- Community AI-assisted knowledge-sharing Platform to:
Include an AI assistant for personalized agroecological recommendations (instruction/knowlegde-base).
Provide AI-generated educational resources and success stories from project data

Work Hours: Flexible, with regular check-ins.
Budget Range: Up to USD 3,000, based on experience and test-based performance.
Remote Position: Communicate via Microsoft Teams.

? Mandatory Technical Skills
3+ years of experience with Flutter and Dart for mobile app development.
Proven expertise in GPS mapping, geofencing, and route tracking (e.g., Wikiloc, Strava).
Strong experience with Mapbox, ESRI, or Google Maps integration in mobile apps.
Proficiency in PHP/Laravel for backend API development and integration.
Experience with RESTful API design and consumption.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL databases.
