Laravel app functionality update

I have a Laravel project that I need some functionality adding to.
Firstly and more simply, I need a filter adding to a view. The filter needs to work with some information that is dynamically generated, rather than present in the database, which is a bit of a sticking point for my limited knowledge of Laravel. I need to filter by "completion stage", which is a value that is determined by the difference between the project end date (a value stored in the database), and the current time.
Secondly, I need a function to export some data as a spreadsheet from the project listing. I can provide more information on this (including Github repo access) if required.
