Laravel/Lumen PHP API Developer with Fireblocks or other EVM blockchain API experience.
Budget: $4,000 – $5,000 AUD
We are in the process of improving and extending our existing Laravel/Lumen-based tokenization API for use with a variety of natural capital projects (forest, water, etc). This involves refactoring existing endpoints to be more efficient and creating additional endpoints to expose new features. We plan to integrate with the Fireblocks API to provide blockchain services.
The resulting collection of API endpoints will support a variety of customer-facing UI projects, as well as an administrative UI that our clients use to manage the tokenization process.
Our overall mission is to make investing in forests and other natural capital accessible to the widest possible range of people. Blockchain technology is a key part of that goal. We believe that in this way we can play a significant role in turning climate change.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic developer for the medium- to long-term who is excited about our mission, engaged, and able to think a few steps ahead. Although the primary role is development, a product owner mindset is helpful.
There is flexibility available in hours and location for the right developer, as well as solid future opportunities. Approximately 30 hours per week will be needed over the next 2-3 months, with additional work beyond. Due to time zone considerations, persons based in Europe or the Americas are preferred.
Essential developer tasks:
- Refactor the existing Laravel (Lumen) API
- Create new endpoints on the API to return data to the UI
- Work in tandem with front-end developers to construct endpoints and return data as needed
- Increase code coverage of API (unit and integration tests)
- Integrate 3rd-party APIs into our API (blockchain functionality, e.g. Infura, Fireblocks)
- Use webhooks and/or polling to monitor and respond to asynchronous tasks
- Maintain accurate issue descriptions and statuses (JIRA)
- Suggest and implement structure and performance improvements
- Assist in documenting API endpoints
Required abilities:
- Expert-level experience with PHP and Laravel/Lumen frameworks
- Working knowledge of blockchain concepts (particularly EVM-based chains)
- Experience working with blockchain-related APIs (e.g. Infura, Fireblocks)
- Thoroughly comfortable with VCS concepts (specifically Bitbucket)
- Experienced in modern devops procedures
- Comfortable working with JIRA
- Ability to troubleshoot pipelines and CI/CD deployments as needed
- Familiar and comfortable working in the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, CodeDeploy)
- Attention to detail and ability to discuss, agree on, and follow specifications
- Fluent spoken and written English
Other helpful knowledge and experience:
- React
- More extensive experience with blockchain concepts (EVM-based chains and Cardano)
- Extended AWS ecosystem knowledge (Route 53, RDS, etc.)
- OpenVPN or other VPN concepts and experience
