Highly skilled senior full stack developer specialising in Laravel
Budget: $8 – $15 AUD
We have been developing a very large Laravel custom site for past 4 years, our senior developer is under extreme pressure, and we are looking for a reliable, skilled, and trustworthy developer to train up and take over the main project. Our senior developer will assist during training period and be there on an ‘as need basis’ after training.
We don’t want someone who is overloaded with work and cannot commit a certain number of hours to us on a regular basis. We are looking for someone grounded and loyal to their word. COMMUNICATION with us is key to work on this project.
As we are new to the AU market and have a huge mission to transform an entire industry, we are on a very exciting journey, so even though you may start on part time hours with us, as soon as we build some traction with our marketing, a long-term career prospect is an option for the right person.
We seek a full stack developer, as there is back, and front-end tasks required. You must have strong skills in: PHP, Laravel Framework, MySQL, Elasticsearch (not mandatory), JavaScript, Vue.js, HTML, CSS (SCSS), AWS, Sitemap & Schema Code experience is a definite advantage, have minimum 5 years of experience with previous Laravel projects. We want a CAN-DO attitude; we are a tight team and have a great passion to see our business succeed. We will always welcome your ideas and input, so we are seeking a leader, someone who wants to climb a ladder within a small organization and look forward to a career with us as we grow.
As we have had some bad experiences with new developers claiming to be experts, we are going to require a trial period of 15 hours, not a lot to sacrifice considering this is a career move that will lead into you becoming our senior developer over time with your own time to lead.
You must be available to have meetings regularly, be available some days AEST time to discuss tasks with CEO and be a good communicator with fluent English. Also, as there is a lot of urgency right now, if we require you to work extra hours to help us, we need that flexibility. We expect hours at present to be between 20-25+ it will vary from week to week but as a pre revenue business that has been under development for 4 years, our budget is tight.
You must be conversational in English please, as we will have weekly calls and it is critical you understand, write and speak decent English. You must have a professional qualification, not self taught please. We will be doing background checks to verify.
Initially, we will require some trial tasks to be undertaken for us to ascertain your skill level is suited to our project, this will then determine the level of training required by our senior developer, which will be daily for a short period of time for 2-3 weeks. We are expecting a senior Laravel developer to only require one month to understand our system and be able to proceed with new features as required.
This project is not small, it is a very large application, so if your experience has been building WordPress sites or small custom sites, this work will not suit you. As part of our interview process, we will require some links to previous Laravel websites developed by you, we would also like to see some sample code in GitHub. The site is built and live but has a lot of issues that require fixing, new features to implement and other tasks.
We prefer independent freelancers to apply for this role, not agencies please. This role has an immediate start.
