Complex Laravel Server Migration
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a dependable specialist to move a fairly large Laravel application from its current shared-hosting account on Hostgator to a brand-new dedicated server. The project goes beyond a simple file copy—I want the entire stack reproduced so the site performs exactly the same (or better) at its new home.
Current setup
• Environment: Shared hosting on Hostgator
• Laravel version: 8.x (with Composer dependencies)
• MySQL database plus scheduled jobs, queue workers and an S3-backed storage disk
• SSL via Let’s Encrypt and a handful of rewrite rules in .htaccess
Target setup
• Fresh dedicated server (I will provide root credentials) running AlmaLinux 9, PHP 8.2, Nginx, MySQL 8, Certbot, Supervisor and Redis.
I’m not yet certain whether I will have SSH access on the old Hostgator plan, so you may need to extract the codebase and database through cPanel or alternative means. Once everything is in place, I expect the following discrete deliverables:
1. Source code, environment variables and vendor packages replicated on the dedicated box.
2. Database migrated with no data loss; all tables, triggers and stored procedures intact.
3. Storage assets copied and symbolic links rebuilt.
4. Cron schedules, queue workers and supervisor processes configured and verified.
5. SSL certificates installed and automatic renewals set up.
6. Domain pointed, DNS propagated and application fully tested in production mode.
Acceptance criteria
• No 500/404 errors on any front-end or admin route.
• Scheduled tasks and background jobs execute without failure for 24 hours.
• Page-load and database query times equal to or better than the original host.
Please outline your approach (rsync vs. manual export, downtime strategy, rollback plan) and an estimated timeline so I can get the green light from stakeholders.
