Spanish-to-French Story Translator

Job ID: 39938294

Budget: $2 – $8 CAD

I have a set of Spanish non-fiction stories written for a general audience and need them rendered into fluent, publication-ready French. Accuracy matters, but so does readability, so I’m looking for a balanced approach—largely faithful to the source while adapting cultural references, idioms, and measurements so they feel natural to a French reader.

Scope
• Translate each story from Spanish to French, preserving factual content and author voice.
• Adapt cultural specifics when a direct equivalent would confuse a French audience (e.g., convert miles to kilometres, clarify region-specific references).
• Leave proper names, book titles, or technical terms untouched unless a widely accepted French version exists.
• Supply a brief translator’s note (two to three sentences) for any significant adaptation choices.

Deliverables
• Final French text in the same file format and structure I provide (typically Word).
• Clean copy ready for print or web, with correct punctuation, accents, and paragraphing.

To help me choose, include either a link to prior Spanish-to-French work or a short sample translation of the paragraph attached. I’ll review style, tone, and attention to detail before assigning the first batch of stories.
