Audit Spanish Translation Techniques
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
I have already produced a complete Spanish version of a short English text and flagged ten specific source-target phrase pairs (fewer than 200 words in total). For each of those pairs I have proposed what I believe is the underlying translation procedure—literal, adaptation, modulation, calque, borrowing, transposition or equivalence—and now need an expert eye to confirm or correct my choices.
Your task
• Examine the ten highlighted segments in context (I will supply both full source and full target files).
• For each segment name the actual procedure used, correcting my label when necessary, and add a concise justification rooted in standard translation-studies terminology (Vinay & Darbelnet).
• Only suggest a new Spanish rendering if the original wording prevents the correct procedure from being applied.
Scope & expectations
• No re-translation of the document—focus strictly on the ten phrases.
• Explanations should be academically sound yet brief; a sentence or two per item is sufficient.
If you have formal training in Spanish↔English translation theory and feel comfortable distinguishing techniques such as modulation versus transposition, I look forward to your insights.
