Backyard Rototilling & Landscape Prep Help

Job ID: 39893568

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I’m refreshing a portion of my yard and need capable, detail-oriented help to get the groundwork done.

First, I have a gas-powered, self-propelled rear-tine tiller on site; I need roughly 1,400 sq ft of previously cultivated garden beds and sparse lawn tilled to a depth of 6-8 inches.

Next, we’ll lay an eco-friendly weed barrier—layers of cardboard, wood shavings, and bagged mulch—across about 1,000 sq ft, ensuring tight overlaps and even coverage.

To enclose a new shade garden, I have twenty panels of 2.3" × 32" wire fencing. These panels should stand about 30" high, set square and secure with posts and a simple gate.

A separate 300 sq ft section needs to be brought perfectly level with topsoil so I can install pet-safe artificial grass; I’ll supply the soil and turf, you provide the labor and eye for grade.

We’ll finish with light weeding around the borders and hauling off a small pile of broken planters and yard debris.

Deliverables
• Soil tilled 6-8" deep over 1,400 sq ft
• Cardboard/wood-shaving/mulch barrier installed over 1,000 sq ft
• 30" wire fence set square and sturdy around shade garden
• 300 sq ft patch leveled and pet grass installed
• All weeds and junk bagged and moved to curb/trailer

Most materials and the tiller are on site; you’ll just need your own basic hand tools. We'll transport debris. I’d like the job completed preferably in two or three six hour visits this week. Length of visits is negotiable. We'd like to start ASAP, including this weekend. Please share your availability and a labor-only quote.
