Front Lawn Replacement (Northern California)

I'm looking for someone to help select and layout plants and rocks to replace our front lawn of ~720sqft. We are in Northern California Sunset Zone 17 and would like to have a more water friendly, sustainable front yard. There are no structures involved just plants, rocks/mulch. Looking for plant lists and planting locations, as well as layout of rocks.
