Sustainable Highway Landscaping

Job ID: 39914228

Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD

I’m overseeing a 6-km roadside greening initiative for a non-profit here in Kuwait and need a motorway-savvy landscape professional who can translate our vision into a resilient, low-maintenance reality. The corridor is harshly exposed, so every plant must thrive on minimal water yet still offer motorists a vibrant mix of greens and seasonal colour.

What I already know we want
• Native desert trees that handle scorching summers, drop-in temperatures, and salty winds while staying fast-growing, drought-resistant and, when possible, flowering.
• Everblooming flowering shrubs chosen for year-round colour pops without intensive pruning.
• A design that respects motorway safety clear-zones, sightlines, and local regulations.

What I need from you
1. A detailed planting blueprint (PDF + CAD/GIS files) showing species placement across the full 6 km stretch, coordinated with existing utilities and drainage.
2. A species palette listing scientific names, nursery sizes, and expected water demand.
3. Irrigation layout and calculations suited to drip or bubbler systems, emphasising water-saving tech.
4. Soil preparation, mulching and establishment guidelines adapted to Kuwait’s desert sub-base.
5. A phased schedule with milestones from procurement through the first full growing season, including a realistic maintenance plan the municipality can adopt long-term.

Demonstrated experience with motorway or large-scale linear landscapes, plus familiarity with arid-region natives such as Prosopis, Acacia, Tecoma, Calliandra, etc., will move you to the top of my shortlist. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land F/X or comparable landscape design software is expected, and any previous work along Gulf highways is a bonus.

Send a concise outline of your approach, comparable projects, and the timeframe you’d need from concept to installation oversight. I’m ready to begin as soon as I find the right partner.
