Stormwater Planter Concept Design

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I need a set of clear, build-ready conceptual designs that show how flow-through planters, tree wells, and small rain gardens can be integrated into an urban streetscape in Philadelphia to meet the City’s stormwater management requirements.

Scope
• Translate my base CAD/PDF site plan into three coordinated concepts—one for each element—illustrating plan view, one or two key sections, and a simple planting palette that favours native species.
• Size each facility for the 1.5-inch design storm and note overflow routing, underdrain options, and required clearances from sidewalks, utilities, and building fronts.
• Reference the current Philadelphia Water Department Stormwater Management Guidance Manual so the concepts can move straight into permitting with minimal revision.
• Provide a brief narrative (one page each) that explains the design intent, assumed soil rates, and any maintenance considerations.
• Include a high-level cost opinion for each concept so I can compare them quickly during stakeholder review.

Format & Tools
PDF sheets (11×17 preferred) are fine for delivery; native files in AutoCAD or Civil 3D will help me advance the drawings later. Feel free to use SketchUp, Revit, or hand-drawn linework—clarity is more important than flashy rendering.

Timeline
A first draft within 10 days of award, final revisions finished one week later.

Acceptance
Designs must:
1. Demonstrate runoff capture to the target depth.
2. Follow PWD material and setback guidelines.
3. Be legible to contractors unfamiliar with green infrastructure.
