Simple Backyard BBQ & Play Design
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’d like to turn my current backyard into a family-friendly retreat that feels open, uncluttered and easy to maintain. The two must-have features are a practical BBQ zone for hosting friends and a safe, inviting play area for the kids, all tied together with a simple, clean aesthetic.
What needs to make it into the layout:
• Backyard mini-house: Paint light clean color and add double door instead of the window.
• BBQ area – small gazebo infront of the backyard min-house
• Play area – extend the current concrete area 10 foot into the slope to make it a multi-purpose sports court
• On the right side - add stairs going to the top of the slope with a small wood deck.
Beyond those anchors, I’m happy with low-key planting, subtle lighting and materials that stay in line with a minimalist look—nothing overly ornate.
Deliverables I’m expecting:
• Scaled concept plan (PDF/JPG) showing clear circulation between the BBQ and play zones
• 2–3 perspective renders for visual approval
• Concise material/plant palette with notes on maintenance and safety
• Optional phasing suggestions so I can build the space in stages if needed
