Lynch Parking Strip

We have a 50 x 5 foot parking strip that used to have a photina hedge. It gets good light. We would like to have some privacy from the street but would prefer a more Northwest Native look than the hedge. We have a couple of potted Japanese Maples that could be used. ( things we had in another yard and liked-----oakleaf hydranga, maples, native grass, dwarf bamboo, evergreen huckleberries-----etc.) low maintenance will be important. Can't grow out into the street so looking for things that don't get to large or wide. Thanks.
