Hawaii Pool Area Landscape Design

Job ID: 40148796

Budget: $250 – $750 CAD

This residential property in Hawaii needs a cohesive concept for a new pool area that feels unmistakably island-authentic while remaining easy to maintain. I have the pool’s footprint confirmed; what’s missing is everything that surrounds it. The scope focuses on three integrated features: a comfortable seating zone for small gatherings, verdant yet climate-appropriate planting that frames the water, and layered outdoor lighting that lets the space stay lively and safe after sunset.

I want a licensed or highly experienced landscape architect who already understands Hawai‘i’s permitting nuances, salt-tolerant species, and coastal micro-climates. Native or adaptive plants should dominate the palette, and any hardscape recommendations must withstand intense sun, moisture, and the occasional tropical storm. Your plan should also acknowledge typical pool equipment setbacks and local safety codes.

Deliverables I will use to hand off to my builder and electrician:

• A site-scaled concept plan (PDF + editable CAD) showing seating layout, planting zones, and lighting points
• A detailed planting schedule with botanical and common names, quantities, and spacing
• Hard-surface and material legend with finish specifications suitable for Hawaiian conditions
• Lighting layout and fixture call-outs (manufacturer, model, lumen output, beam spread)
• At least two color renderings or a short SketchUp/Lumion walkthrough that illustrates night and day ambience
• Construction notes highlighting grade changes, drainage considerations, and any permit-triggering elements

The design phase can be entirely remote, but I’m available for video calls and can supply current survey files and pool engineering drawings immediately. Let me know your typical turnaround time and the software you use so we can stay compatible from concept through build.

Must be licensed in state of hawaii for landscape architecture (my HOA requires this).
