Optimize Ubuntu LAMP E-commerce

I recently moved my custom PHP / MariaDB e-commerce site to a new Ubuntu virtual dedicated server. Since the switch, every page—home, product, checkout, you name it—now loads noticeably slower even though CPU and RAM usage stay low.

The job is straightforward: dissect and tune the stack so the site performs at least as quickly as it did on the old box. I’m specifically after smart adjustments to apache2.conf, vhost files, php.ini, php-fpm pool settings, and my.cnf—buffer sizes, innodb settings, query logging, connection limits, the works.

Deliverables
• Optimised configuration files for Apache, PHP-FPM, and MariaDB, commented so I can see what changed.
• A brief report (bullet points are fine) showing baseline vs. post-tuning load times and the reasoning behind each tweak, so I can replicate the process on staging and future servers.

If you’re comfortable squeezing speed out of an Ubuntu LAMP stack on a virtual dedicated server, this should be quick and rewarding work.
