Objectives:
To implement a basic Sound Level Meter using the myDAQ and LabView
Sampling input signal from a microphone at 48 kHz
Implement A‐weighting and C‐weighting filters (digitally)
Calculate: Leq(A), L10, L95 (all A‐weighted and C‐weighted)
Display results graphically
Real time operation
Implement microphone calibration to adjust for microphone sensitivity.

Testing Resources:
You will be provided with:
• An Electret Microphone
• Matlab functions to design the Filter coefficients to implement the A‐weighting
filter digitally
• data files with test signals for testing the A‐weighting filter implementation and
other noise statistics e.g. LEQ
• test file with 1 kHz, 94 dB tone for testing accurate calculation of SPL and Leq
• environmental noise measurement files recorded using a SLM which you can use
to check the data path calculations e.g. L10, L95,LEQ
• Access to an Acoustic calibrator
• Access to a handheld Sound Level Meter
