GS1 DataMatrix & SSCC Label Integration for US DSCSA Compliance (No Design Work)
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
We are looking for a GS1 serialization–aware label specialist to integrate GS1-compliant barcodes into existing artwork and to generate GS1-compliant shipper labels.
This is a regulated compliance task, not a creative design project.
All identifiers (GTINs, serial numbers, SSCCs) are already generated.
Your responsibility is limited strictly to correct barcode rendering and label integration in accordance with GS1 and US DSCSA requirements.
Scope of Work
A. Saleable Unit Labels (Primary Pack)
Integrate GS1 DataMatrix (ECC200) into an existing print-ready label
Generate 96 unique labels, one per serial number
No modification of existing artwork except barcode placement
B. Shipper / Case Labels
Create 4 GS1-128 SSCC shipper labels
A shipper label template does not currently exist and must be created
Compliance Requirements
All work must comply with:
US DSCSA
GS1 General Specifications
EPCIS reconciliation requirements
This work will be validated using GS1 decoding tools.
Inputs We Will Provide
Saleable Unit
Print-ready label file (AI / PDF)
GTIN-14
Excel / CSV with 96 serial numbers
Lot / Batch number
Expiry date (YYMMDD)
Shipper Level
4 SSCC numbers
EPCIS XML (read-only, for reconciliation only)
You must NOT:
Generate GTINs
Generate serial numbers
Generate SSCCs
Modify EPCIS data
Barcode Technical Requirements (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
Saleable Unit – GS1 DataMatrix
Each label must encode exactly:
Symbology: GS1 DataMatrix (ECC200)
GS1 mode enabled
Proper FNC1 handling
Variable-length AI (10) correctly delimited
Free barcode generators, QR tools, or generic DataMatrix tools are strictly prohibited.
Shipper Label – GS1-128 SSCC
Label Size
100 mm × 150 mm
Portrait orientation
Barcode
Symbology: GS1-128
X-dimension: 0.495 – 0.94 mm
Black on white only
Human-Readable Text
SSCC printed below barcode
Font: Arial / Helvetica
Size: 10–12 pt
Numeric only
Optional (if space allows):
Product name
Case quantity
Lot number
Required Deliverables
Files
Updated saleable-unit label (with GS1 DataMatrix)
96 individual labels OR one variable-data label
4 SSCC shipper labels (PDF / AI / EPS)
Technical Proof (Mandatory)
Exact GS1 payload strings used
ZXing Decoder screenshots showing:
]d2 indicator
Parsed AIs: 01 / 21 / 17 / 10
Tool name & version used
Written declaration confirming no free barcode tools were used
Acceptance Criteria
Labels will be accepted only after:
Successful ZXing decoding
Correct GS1 AI parsing
Serial numbers match EPCIS XML
SSCC AggregationEvent reconciliation
Anything that scans but does not decode as GS1 will be rejected.
