ROLE 1: JUNIOR OPENSHIFT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ENGINEER
Role Summary
Support OpenShift platform operations and project deliveries under Professional Services engagements. Execute guided tasks, produce delivery evidence, and follow incident, request, and change processes in regulated environments.
Responsibilities
• Support routine OpenShift operations under supervision (access, basic deployments, health checks).
• Execute runbooks for incidents, service requests, and standard changes, documenting actions and outcomes.
• Assist with environment setup, validation tests, and post-change verification.
• Collect logs, events, and metrics for escalation and root cause support.
• Produce delivery evidence for public sector engagements (tickets, checklists, screenshots, technical notes).
Required Skills
• Fundamentals of containers, Kubernetes, and OpenShift concepts.
• Basic Linux administration and CLI usage.
• Basic networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, TLS basics).
• Familiarity with ITSM workflows (incident, request, change).
• Strong documentation discipline and clear written communication.
Required Certifications
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes (EX180) or in progress.
Nice to Have
• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280) planned within 6 to 12 months.
• Exposure to compliance/audit environments.
Experience
• 0 to 2 years in Linux, containers, infrastructure operations, DevOps support, or platform support.
ROLE 2: MID LEVEL OPENSHIFT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ENGINEER
Role Summary
Own day-to-day OpenShift administration tasks and deliver scoped Professional Services outcomes. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain OpenShift clusters in production with governance, evidence, and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Perform day-2 OpenShift operations: RBAC, projects/namespaces, quotas, scaling, scheduling, secrets/configs, routes.
• Troubleshoot cluster and workload issues, coordinate escalation with Red Hat and internal teams.
• Execute upgrades and maintenance windows with change management, rollback readiness, and validation plans.
• Support application onboarding and platform enablement activities (standards, templates, onboarding playbooks).
• Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, architecture notes, and evidence packs for audit and delivery acceptance.
Required Skills
• Solid OpenShift administration experience in production.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and operational excellence mindset.
• CI/CD fundamentals and Git-based workflows; basic GitOps understanding is a plus.
• Comfort operating under governance constraints (approvals, segregation of duties, audit trails).
Required Certifications
• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280).
Nice to Have
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes (EX180).
• Experience with observability stacks (monitoring/logging) and security hardening.
Experience
• 2 to 5 years total experience, including 1 to 3 years with OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms.
ROLE 3: SENIOR OPENSHIFT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ARCHITECT
Role Summary
Lead complex OpenShift Professional Services deliveries, define standards and operational models, and act as the primary escalation point for reliability, security, and modernization. Own outcomes, risks, and delivery evidence in public sector environments.
Responsibilities
• Lead architecture and delivery for OpenShift platforms: availability, resilience, security, and scalability.
• Define platform standards: multi-tenancy patterns, RBAC models, network segmentation, quota strategies, and cluster lifecycle management.
• Plan and lead upgrades, migrations, performance improvements, and major incident response across multiple teams.
• Implement SRE-style practices: SLOs, incident response, problem management, postmortems, and continuous improvement.
• Guide application onboarding patterns, CI/CD strategy, GitOps adoption, and developer enablement.
• Produce executive-ready artifacts: implementation plans, technical reports, risk registers, and audit-ready evidence packages.
• Mentor engineers and ensure delivery quality, traceability, and compliance with framework contract terms
Required Skills
• Deep OpenShift platform expertise in large-scale production environments.
• Strong Linux and systems engineering foundation and advanced troubleshooting.
• Security and governance mindset, comfortable with compliance and audit requirements.
• Stakeholder management, leadership, mentoring, and clear written communication.
Required Certifications
• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280).
• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Application Developer (EX288) or equivalent advanced OpenShift certification aligned to engagement scope.
