AWS Migration & DevOps Enhancement

Project Description

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes (EKS), and cloud infrastructure best practices. The project involves migrating services within AWS, improving existing GitLab pipelines, and implementing enhancements to our current cloud architecture.
Scope of Work
1. AWS-to-AWS Migration (Primary Task)

We need to migrate our existing AWS environment to a new AWS account/region with minimal downtime.
This includes:

Migrating EKS clusters, microservices, and workloads.

Migrating databases, IAM roles/policies, VPC components, and supporting services.

Ensuring GitLab CI/CD pipelines remain fully functional post-migration.

Validating network configuration, DNS updates, and service integrations.

Implementing security best practices during and after migration.

. GitLab Pipeline Enhancements

We require improvements to our existing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Tasks include:

Adding parameters and variables to improve pipeline flexibility.

Enhancing deployment stages for EKS-based Kubernetes services.

Introducing automated testing, environment selection, and conditional logic.

Improving pipeline efficiency, readability, and monitoring.

3. AWS Infrastructure Enhancements

We need additional improvements and optimizations to strengthen our cloud environment.
This may involve:

Adding or improving monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).

Updating autoscaling configurations and EKS node group enhancements.

Reviewing and optimizing security groups, IAM permissions, and resource policies.

Implementing cost optimization strategies.

Improving network architecture, VPC settings, or load balancer configurations.

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal freelancer should have:

Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS, IAM, VPC, EC2, RDS, Route53, Load Balancers).

Expertise in GitLab CI/CD and pipeline automation.

Proven experience working with Kubernetes (EKS) deployments.

Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation is a plus).

Experience performing AWS migrations and cloud infrastructure upgrades.

Ability to document changes and communicate clearly.

Deliverables

Fully migrated AWS environment with validated functionality.

Updated and improved GitLab pipelines with parameterization.

Implemented AWS enhancements and performance/security improvements.

Documentation for migration steps, pipelines, and infrastructure updates.

NOTE : As this is critical project I cant share cridentials and work can be done by screen sharing. also timeline for this project is 45 days from now.
