Android Smart Timetable App

I’m building a Smart Timetable for Android that serves both students and faculty in one streamlined app. Students must be able to open the app and instantly see their daily lecture lineup, plus receive push alerts whenever a class is updated or cancelled. On the faculty side, lecturers need a quick panel where they can create, update, or cancel sessions and broadcast the resulting notifications to the affected students in real time.
The core of the project is an intuitive Android interface connected to a realtime back-end so any timetable change is reflected instantly. I’m comfortable if you work in Kotlin or Java, and a cloud database such as Firebase or an equivalent REST-based solution will keep things simple for syncing.
Deliverables
• Fully-functional Android app with separate login flows for students and faculty
• Student view: daily timetable screen and background push notifications for schedule changes
• Faculty tools: add, update, cancel lectures and trigger notifications instantly
• Clean, well-commented source code and a brief setup guide so I can build or extend the project later
Acceptance criteria
1. A student who logs in should always see an up-to-date list of today’s classes without needing to refresh.
2. When a lecturer cancels a class, every enrolled student receives a push alert within seconds.
3. All changes made from the faculty interface persist in the back-end and display correctly on any device that relaunches the app.
