Hi my name is James and for my whole life I have struggled with mental health after experiencing many traumas that were out of my control but 12 months ago I bought a camera after running my computer support business for 8 years and finding I was working 14 hour days and my mental health was drastically effecting every aspect of my life.
Buying this camera changed my life completely!
What started out as a hobby to help with my mental health has now become a burning passion, a life changing experience, something I want to know everything about and make it my career.
In 12 months I now have a following on social media from people that enjoy my photography and have sent me personal messages explaining how they look forward to seeing my photos posted online and puts a smile on their faces.
This is more than I could have ever dreamed of!
Seeing and hearing of people smile makes me happy and makes me dream even bigger and create more special photos for people.
Three months ago whilst doing a photo shoot at a beach in Melbourne I was attacked by two thieves who stole all my camera gear which has been devastating and really effected my mental health not being able to share my passion and love for photography.
But I won't allow these people to steal what I love and that's why I would love to create my kick starter campaign to give back to people and showcase the real effects of mental health.
I want to start a campaign for a photo book that showcases people that are or have experienced mental health in their lives and would love to travel Australia and take photos of some of these truly inspiring people and share their stories in photo form.
I have a true vision of what this book will look like and really think people will fall in love with the vision I am trying to create through my lens and ultimately on the pages of the book.
