Juniper SRX340 Firmware Upgrade
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
The SRX340 I picked up second-hand is still on JunOS 15 and refuses every USB upgrade attempt. A Windows machine with the console cable already attached will be yours to control remotely; the required .tgz image for the exact JunOS release I want is sitting on that PC.
The task is to zeroize the device and reload it cleanly with the version I provide—no configuration backup is needed because this is a fresh lab build. Once the installation completes, I simply need to see the firewall booting into the new code and accepting basic commands.
Key points you’ll handle:
• Full wipe/zeroize and reformat from the loader prompt
• Image transfer via USB, TFTP or any workable method that bypasses the missing stepping release
• Post-install verification, including successful commit on an empty config
Deliverable: the SRX340 running my specified JunOS version plus a brief text log of the commands you used so I can repeat the process later.
I’m on Eastern Time and would like to schedule the session after 6 PM ET on a weekday, but I can be flexible if needed. Let me know when you’re available and we can get this sorted quickly. I have a total of 3 units, really just need to learn what I am doing wrong during the wipe/zero process. If we can get one unit working, I'm sure I'd be able to get the other 2 working after reviewing the steps you have taken.
