WordPress Developer — Hourly, 3-Month Fixed Term (Remote)

We need a WordPress developer for a fixed 3-month engagement, billed hourly, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

Core WordPress
2+ years of hands-on WordPress development
Building custom themes from scratch and working with child themes
Custom plugin development and modifying/extending third-party plugins
Hooks, actions, and filters — comfortable with the WordPress way of doing things
Page builders: Elementor and/or WPBakery, plus Gutenberg block editor


Front-End
Strong HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (vanilla; jQuery a plus)
Responsive, mobile-first development with pixel-accurate results
Converting Figma / PSD / XD designs into working WordPress sites
Cross-browser testing and fixing layout/compatibility issues

Back-End / PHP
Solid PHP fundamentals and ability to write clean, secure custom code
Working with MySQL and the WordPress database structure
Understanding of WordPress security basics (sanitization, escaping, nonces)

Workflow & Communication
Comfortable with Git-based version control
Able to follow project scope and meet deadlines reliably
Clear written English and regular progress updates

Nice to Have
WooCommerce store setup, customization, and payment integrations
Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and custom post types/taxonomies
REST API / headless WordPress experience
Basic familiarity with hosting, DNS, SSL, and site migrations
Experience with staging environments and deployment workflows
