Admin Login Fix & Tweaks

Our custom PHP admin area needs a quick yet solid overhaul. The immediate priority is the login: incorrect passwords sometimes slip through while legitimate users are rejected, so both the password-handling logic and overall authentication flow must be corrected. Once access control is bulletproof, I would like a couple of follow-ups—freshening the interface where it feels dated and tightening security best practices already in place.

Two nagging bugs also require attention: forms that occasionally refuse to submit and sporadic database connection failures that leave blank pages. Resolving those should be straightforward once you’re inside the codebase.

Code is a mix of procedural PHP with a sprinkle of jQuery; no frameworks involved. I’ll provide full source access and a staging server for testing. Deliverables are:

• Reliable login that rejects bad credentials and accepts valid ones every time
• Clean, modernised admin screens (light CSS tweaks are fine)
• Hardened security around authentication and sessions
• Form submissions completing error-free
• Stable database connections with clear error handling

Push your updates to the staging server for review—once everything passes, we’ll deploy to production.
