Video Journalist

About the Role
We're building a global network of freelance journalists and video storytellers who can quickly identify, report and produce engaging short-form news and human-interest content for digital platforms. You'll create fast-paced, mobile-first videos designed for audiences across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other social platforms. This role is ideal for journalists who understand digital storytelling, can report confidently on camera, and know how to make complex stories engaging in under two minutes.

Responsibilities
Research and pitch timely story ideas Report and present stories on camera
Conduct quick interviews when required
Capture high-quality footage using professional cameras or mobile devices
Deliver compelling short-form videos
Write concise scripts and interview questions
Ensure factual accuracy and editorial integrity Work independently under tight deadlines Requirements Background in journalism, broadcast media or digital news
Fluent English and Mandarin (additional languages are highly valued)
Strong on-camera presence Experience producing social-first video content
Professional filming equipment or equivalent production quality
Ability to work independently
Understanding of international news and current affairs

Nice to Have
Existing audience or social media presence
Experience covering breaking news
Editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, DaVinci)
