Enthusiastic Writers Wanted for Community News
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Title: Seeking Passionate Writers & Amateur Journalists for Community News Portal
Project Description:
We are a growing, independent community news portal dedicated to the global Malayalee and Indian diaspora. Built as a non-profit, legacy journalism project, our goal is to keep our community connected through authentic, high-quality reporting and storytelling.
We are currently looking to build a small syndicate of enthusiastic amateur writers, freelance journalists, or journalism students who are eager to build their published portfolios.
What we are looking for:
Content Types: Local community news, cultural features, travelogues, opinion pieces, or literature reviews.
Language: Articles can be written in either English or Malayalam.
Tone: Professional, engaging, and community-focused.
Experience: You do not need to be a seasoned professional! If you have a passion for writing, a good grasp of grammar, and a desire to practice grassroots journalism, we want to hear from you.
What we offer:
A steady platform to publish your work with a dedicated author byline.
A modest, fixed per-article rate (perfect for students or those looking for supplemental freelance income).
The opportunity to grow with a meaningful community initiative.
To Apply:
Please send a brief introduction about yourself, your areas of interest, and one or two writing samples (published or unpublished). Let’s practice great journalism together!
