We are looking for experienced freelance writers to produce well-researched, long-form articles covering ongoing socio-political, humanitarian, and environmental issues in Bangladesh and Myanmar. Our newsletter focuses on overlooked global stories and underreported subjects, aiming to provide thoughtful, data-backed insights to an international readership.
This role requires strong investigative skills, including academic research and sourcing relevant photographic documentation to support reporting.
Scope of Work:
Write 1,000–2,000 word in-depth articles
Conduct ground-level research using credible academic and policy sources
Incorporate verified data, reports, and contextual background
Source or recommend relevant photographic material (with proper credits)
Provide clear citations where required
Required Skills:
Proven experience in journalism, political analysis, or long-form research writing
Strong understanding of South/Southeast Asian regional issues
Ability to analyze complex socio-political developments
Excellent English writing and editing skills
Experience working with academic or NGO reports
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
Regional contacts or on-the-ground research experience
Background in human rights, migration, conflict studies, or environmental reporting
