Modify or configure ARTIO JoomSEF to reformat URLs

I have a Joomla website that is using EasySocial to allow users to create profiles. Our site also uses ARTIO JoomSEF to manage SEF URLs.
Right now all user profile URLs are formatted in the following way: /profile/profile/id#-firstname-lastname
For example, "/profile/profile/1234-john-smith".
We need this changed so that an EasySocial profile URL is formatted as: /profile/firstname-lastname
For example, "/profile/john-smith".
