Joomla Site Upgrade and Redesign
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project Overview
I’m looking for a seasoned Joomla expert to migrate my existing Joomla 3.9 site (≈30 pages plus extensive photo galleries) to the latest, stable Joomla 4.x release. The site’s content, structure, and images all stay the same—but I want the menu and homepage to become more visual, using designs I’ll supply.
Scope of Work
1. Joomla Core Upgrade
○ Audit current 3.9 site for deprecated extensions and customizations
○ Upgrade to the latest recommended Joomla 4.x version
○ Resolve any compatibility issues
2. Template/Layout Modernization
○ Retain existing look and feel on interior pages
○ Rebuild homepage and main menu as a visual, grid-oriented layout per supplied mockups
○ Ensure consistent typography, spacing, and brand colors
3. Extension Migration & Configuration
○ Forms (e.g. chrono forms, RSForm!, Breezing Forms or similar)
○ Smart Slider 3
○ Blog component (e.g. Joomla Articles, K2, etc.)
○ JoomGallery (or equivalent)
○ SEO tools (e.g. sh404SEF, EFSEO)
4. Responsive Design & SEO
○ Mobile-first, cross-device responsiveness
○ On-page SEO setup: meta tags, schema markup, XML sitemap
○ Google PageSpeed and Lighthouse optimization
5. Performance & Security
○ Implement Joomla caching and CDN-friendly asset handling
○ SSL renewal (Let’s Encrypt or existing certificate)
○ Basic security hardening (Super User lockdown, two-factor auth, file permissions)
6. Testing & Deployment
○ QA on staging server, cross-browser testing (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
○ Final migration to production environment
○ Basic documentation of administrative changes
Client Will Provide
• cPanel/FTP access to current hosting environment
• Joomla admin credentials
• New homepage/menu mockup designs (Figma/PSD)
• List of any custom CSS or JavaScript snippets in use
I will be writing redirects for many existing pages
