Fix Joomla login redirection

The Joomla site 3.8.3 has many plugins and up for many years. the frontend is a combination of Joomal + Joomshopping.
The redirection after login has been working fine so far. Recently I believe I have removed some articles from trash in Joomla and now the redirection is giving a 404 error.
